Pumpkin Pie with Walnut Crumble

Yesterday My Mom and I tried out a pumpkin pie recipe taken from the blog veganolution.

The Pie is very tasty, but i changed the recipe for the walnut-crumble a bit.

Pumpkin Pie with Walnut Crumble
(Kürbiskuchen mit Walnussstreusel)

For the Pie You need:
350 g whole wheat flour
200 g cane sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon orange peel
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons flax seeds, grinded
1 1/2 cups pumpkin purée (steam big pumpkin-pieces in a cooking pot until they are soft, then purée them with a mixer)
80 ml oil

For the Walnut Crumble you need:
4 tablespoons whole wheat flour
4 tablespoons walnuts, grinded
2 tablespoons cane sugar
4 tablespoons oil

1. Preheat oven to 170 °C. Mix all ingredients for the crumble and refrigerate them.

2. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in a large bowl. In a second bowl you mix together the pumpkin purée, flax seeds and oil. Then you add the pumpkin mix to the flour mixture.

3. Filling into the cake pan, put the walnut crumble onto the top. Leave it in the oven for about an hour.
