I can’t believe it that I didn’t checked Happy Cow good enough to find out that Rome has a whole vegan ice cream shop!! Luckily I had still a free day left as I was teaching nearly every day yoga and stretching classes 😅
This place is not only awesome because it has only vegan ice cream, but of its special way to produce it!! It’s all made of olive oil!! And as I am the biggest olive oil lover this place was heaven for me!!
Of course the different tastes are not all olive oil flavored! Actually you’ll taste nothing of olive oil in it! But it makes such a creamy consistence for flavores like Lolla Nonna, which is like Nutella, peanut or steccialtella!
It took me a quite while to choose my flavors because there where a lot i never tried before, like white wine, red wine, black sesame and and and 🙂🙃🙂
So I decided for Goji, green tea, Lolla Nonna and coconut! Later I got to taste a bit of the olive oil ice cream and it was sooo delicious only with a really soft taste of olive oil! For me it could even have been more 😜
But that’s still not all! They have ice cream on a stick and a few different cakes, made of olive oil base as well 😍😍😍
I don’t have to mention that I had to take also an ice cream on a stick 😅
This by far is my favorite ice cream place in Rome and I can’t wait to come back to taste a lot more of all these, I guess over 30, different flavored 😆😆😆

I’m so happy to see how Berlin has flourished, in terms of vegan products, cafes, restaurants and shops. If you see billboard advertisements of one of the biggest chocolate manufactures in Germany, who are advertising for their new vegan chocolate range, then I think things are really rolling towards a vegan revolution.
Yey! So this is a relativley new store from Paletas Berlin whose vegan “Eis am Stil” we have already tried a few years back on the Neukölln Flowmarkt (A really beautiful fleamarket on Maybachufer).
Now they opened this really sweet little popsicles shop that also serves coffee in Wühlischstrasse, Friedrichshain. Look how cute it looks!!
Not everything is vegan, but you can get vegan versions dipped with dark chocolate and hazelnut crunch or coconut flakes ❤️
I chose strawberry basil covered in dark chocolate and coconut flakes.
Made from fresh fruits and veg these artisan popsicles are a thousand times better than the flavoured water ice creams you can get in normal stores. It’s basically like a frozen smoothie 😌

Finally finally finally there is an all vegan ice cream shop in Berlin !!!
And finally after a long long time, feeling like ages, I had spaghetti ice cream again!!
The banana split is also great and they have also a donut sundae with the donuts of Brammibal’s Donuts!!
Choose of daily changing tastes like salted caramel with popcorn, tahini, banana with chia seeds and of course classics like vanilla chocolate and so on… If you want it sugar free, there was for example blueberry!
It’s open every day from 1 till 9pm. So make sure you get there as soon as possible!!

So here we are, hungry vegan food hunters tracking down a colorful flyer promise of non profit, 100% vegan food that we found hanging on the blackboard of our favorite of all yoga studios: Jivamukti. Arrived in Hackney with roaring stomachs we don’t get disapointed of the menu – no we are in sheer delight of all the variety that is offered here! There is so much that we want to try, so we decide to take three main menus and starters and share them between us. Whilst we eagerly eye the cakes on the counter we know It will take a looong time until we leave this place and we get comfortable with a Hot Chocolate topped with marshmallows.
While we are waiting for our orders we explore the shop and find lots of bargains like a lovely Jutebeutel for 5 Pounds and a pizza cheese for 1.50. You can find snacks, chocolate bars, faux meat and cheese, vegan household items and there is also a lot of interesting books about Veganism, Vegan cookery books or also anarchy literature. Everything is really cheap, of course because it is a non profit shop. Yeah!
The Main dishes are all really tasty and we feel that everything is homemade and fresh. We find out that we all three think that the Seitan Sandwich tastes outstanding good and we like the Lentil Pie with Mashed potato and Kale. The Burger is of course amazing as well. Its the first time for us to try a sausage baked in a bread roll and we wonder how this could happen?!
We can’t behave and order our cakes and brownies with whipped cream and large scoops of ice cream and have an amazing munch on the end of an amazing munch! Life is good with places like these! We are grateful to have found such an affordable, graceful, pleasure bringing institution and plan a return as soon as we can. meoooow!
A really cute and special place in lower Manhattan! Many different and all vegan ice cream variations like sundaes, flurry with soft ice and topping, New York egg cream, shakes and cups and cones!
I decided for the brownie sundae! Hot browny with 2 scoops (peanut butter & Jelly and lavender), marshmallow sauce, candied pecans, whipped coconut cream and cherry!!!

This is a really easy recipe for homemade delicious ice cream without sugar. It is great for a supernice special desert for when you invite friends for dinner because you can prepare it earlier and keep it in the freezer. My guests were really surprised how well the flavours harmonised. The basil freshens the creamy coconut and pistachio flavour and gives it a nice twist. Moreover it makes the color go nice and green. I really love this ice cream because it’s so easy to make but is sooo special. Everyone will love you if you treat them with this 😉
For three portions:
- 3-4 ripe bananas (they have to have brown spots!)
- handful of pistachio nuts
- 3-5 tablespoons coconut milk (take care to not make it to liquid!)
- small handful fresh basil
- Maple syrup
First you need to freeze the bananas for approximately 6 hours. I peel and cut them and freeze them inside a tupper box. Then you just put all the ingredients, except half the amount of pistachio, into your food processor and blend. You’ll have to stop and scrape down the sides for a few times. When everything is really creamy you take it out and fill in a tupper box and freeze it for about 1 hour. Add the other half of the pistachios after half an hour. You’ll have to stir the ice cream for a few times so that everything freezes equally and stays creamy.
This is an desperate I need cake NOW recipe, made from scratch and all my attempts in making the ice-cream balls look nice, failed as you can see. Nevertheless it was a really nice creation that lifted my mood in no time and pleased my taste buds efficiently. The special flavor of rosewater makes the strawberry ice cream really delicious and gives it an oriental touch. For the crust I took my raw flat bread which I had on hand and spread a lot of maple syrup on top of it. If you can’t be bothered to make the bread you could also simply make a crust of almonds and dates.
For the crust:
- 1 cups of soaked almonds
- 1/2 cup of pitted dates
For the cream:
- 2 cups soaked cashews
- 3 Tbs cacao powder
- 3 Tbs Maple sirup
For the Ice cream:
- 2 cups frozen strawberries
- 2 Tbs rose water
- 3 Tbs coconut milk
- 3 Tbs Maple sirup
If you are using the flat bread then stance a round piece out of the bread to build your crust. I used my steel salad bowl for that matter. Spread the maple sirup very generously. If you are making the crust of almonds and dates then blend them in your food processor and form a round base somehow.
Then make the cream of the cashew and the cocoa powder in the food processor, add maple syrup and a little water if you think it’s too thick . Then top your cake base with it. Let it sit in the fridge for the time you need to make the Ice cream.
Throw the ingredients for the ice cream in the food processor and let it blend for a few minutes. As it is too soft after blending you’ll have to freeze it now again for some time. I think I waited for 30-40 min. Now take your base with the cashew cream and decorate with the ice cream. Take a few dried roses if your presenting it to someone special (I’m not mentioning valentines, no no no) and go wild on the decoration. I used dried coconut too. Or just go for it and munch it up for your egoistic self. Bon appétit

Completely sugar free and a natural, fresh, fruity energy boost for a good start into the hot summer days.
It’s really simple and fast to prepare.
All you need to have is a food processor, soaked nuts and frozen fruit for the Ice-cream. It takes me 15 min. to prepare both deliciousies in the morning.
(everything for one portion)
Start with the cake crust:
– half a cup soaked almonds
– half a cup figs
blend in the food processor until you have a sticky dough (2 min. ).
then form the dough into a square (or round) cake-base.
Cut a nectarine in slices and place on the cake-base. Add a few raspberries and voilà here goes your piece of cake.
You can replace the almonds that I used with any other nuts that you like ( paranuts, walnuts cashews etc. ) I also switch figs with dates from time to time which makes the whole thing much sweeter. Also the fruit are free to be replaced of course. just be creative 🙂
For the Ice-cream:
– 2-3 frozen bananas
– 3/4 cup frozen mixed berries
– 2- 3 Tbsp. Nut, Oat or Soymilk
I usually cut bananas in slices fill them in a (big!) tupper or freezer bag and look out to always keep it filled up. The berries you can either freeze yourself or you buy them frozen. easy.

for this recipe you don’t need an ice cream machine and hours of waiting time.
All ya need to do is blend & enjoy 🙂
For 2 servings:
- 3 frozen bananas
- 3 pitted and soaked dates (optional, depending on your sweet touth)
- raw chocolate powder
- dash of vanilla extract
The bananas should be frozen for at least 1 night. When you take them out the freezer let them defrost for about 5 min. It makes it easier to cut the peel of with a knife. Cut the bananas in pieces and put in blender. The pitted dates should be soaked in water for at least 1/2 hour. Not too much liquid, they should be just covered. Use Medjool dates or any soft dates that you can find. Blend the dates (with the water ) with bananas and the rest of the ingredients. You will need to scoop down the sides of the blender a few times to make sure everything gets mixed well.
My Ice Cream was a little too soft because i used too much water. but it didn’t matter for the chocolate flash was aaamaazing 🙂 I added walnuts at the end.
Yes, this yumminess is hard to beat. And so easy to make and on top even healthier than most other choc snacks.
