Pistachio basil ice cream

This is a really easy recipe for homemade delicious ice cream without sugar. It is great for a supernice special desert for when you invite friends for dinner because you can prepare it earlier and keep it in the freezer. My guests were really surprised how well the flavours harmonised. The basil freshens the creamy coconut and pistachio flavour and gives it a nice twist. Moreover it makes the color go nice and green. I really love this ice cream because it’s so easy to make but is sooo special. Everyone will love you if you treat them with this ๐Ÿ˜‰
For three portions:

  • 3-4 ripe bananas (they have to have brown spots!)
  • handful of pistachio nuts
  • 3-5 tablespoons coconut milk (take care to not make it to liquid!)
  • small handful fresh basil
  • Maple syrup

First you need to freeze the bananas for approximately 6 hours. I peel and cut them and freeze them inside a tupper box. Then you just put all the ingredients, except half the amount of pistachio, into your food processor and blend. You’ll have to stop and scrape down the sides for a few times. When everything is really creamy you take it out and fill in a tupper box and freeze it for about 1 hour.ย Add the other half of the pistachios after half an hour. You’ll have to stir the ice cream for a few times so that everything freezes equally and stays creamy.

Yoga around the world

One thing i love so much about Yoga is its international (imagined) community. Practising Yoga creates a special feeling of shared identities between those who live and love yoga. So everywhere i travel or work, i try to visit at least one local class or studio find through websearch or the Jivamukti Yoga Homepage. At the moment i am staying a month in Doha, Qatar where me and Aline do a DJ residency in W Hotel’s Club “Wahm Lounge”. Image We are here for almost two weeks now and i did everyday my ย yoga session in our apartment. But by today i felt a need to join a yoga class and practice together with other like-minded people and experience this certain atmosphere you can only feel when doing a group session. As always i am exited to learn from a new teacher and see a local yoga center. We will attend a Core-Vinyasa class and i am quite curious about it! Letยดs go! Image

staying fit in Cuba

After a lot of tasty but also big and heavy cuban dinner times it’s time to start some sports also! But where to go and what to do?

Firts: A little Yoga session you can make nearly everywhere, no matter how small or big your room is! You just have to do it, best directly in the mornung, without thinking too much!

Second: dance!! There are everywhere a lot of classes to participate for Salsa, Rumba and and and! The nicest one I had in Trinidad at a casa particular with the well knowen teacher Mireya Medina Rodriguez. You find her in Antonio Maceo 472, Trinidad. One class (60 minutes) costs just 5 Euro! But don’t forget to train later by yourself in one of all the vibrating places there to dance!!

Third: if you are somewhere at the sea, don’t be shy, make sport directly at the beach! Jogging at the beach when the sun goes up is just amazing! But also Yoga and other exercises are nice to make with a fresh wind from the sea!

Forth: If you have good shoes for jogging also the Malecon in Havana is a nice route! And also a long one. You can make all the way directly next to the open wide sea!

Fifth: walk walk walk! you don’t only save money for taxis or coco-taxies, but do also something for your shape. And over this you even will explore more of your environment!
